Burton – Jeremy Trent, one of the top shooters in the history of Genesee County, will once again host a shooting and offensive skills camp at Bentley high school on March 24th and 25th from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. The cost of the camp is $40 (total) for both days and includes a t-shirt and awards for top shooters.
The camp is open to boys ages 14-22.
At the end of the second day, there will be an all-star game featuring the top 12 players in camp.
Learn from the best
Trent, now the head varsity boys’ basketball coach at Burton Bentley high school, is Swartz Creek's all time single-season scoring leader; he averaged nearly 25 points per game in the Big Nine in his senior season. He played at Mott Community College for Coach Steve Schmidt and at Alma College where he averaged 17 and 13 points per game, respectively. Trent has coached the Bulldogs for four seasons after being an assistant under Rory Mattar for five seasons at Swartz Creek and Flint Carman-Ainsworth. The Bulldogs went 5-37 in two seasons prior to Trent's arrival. In the past three seasons Bentley has an overall record of 50-17.
Putting his money where his shot is
Coach Trent, once again this year, has offered a money-back guarantee—all you have to do is beat him in a 3-point shootout.
If you can do that, your camp experience is on the house.
It didn’t happen last year, but hope springs eternal.
Don’t take my word for it
"Jeremy was one of the first really good shooters that I coached at Mott, and he is developing into an excellent young coach." --Coach Steve Schmidt, two-time NJCAA national coach of the year
"Jeremy is one of the best offensive players that I have ever coached and the best pure shooter." --Rory Mattar, Former Swartz Creek and Carman-Ainsworth head coach
"Jeremy is one of the best shooters that I have ever had a chance to work with." --Coach Jeff Smith, former Alma assistant head coach, current assistant head coach at the university of Utah.
"The camp is definitely worth it. Coach Trent really knows what he's doing. He is a great shooter, but I'm going to challenge him this year. --Chris Hutton, Lapeer County player of the year and top 3-point shooter in the Flint Metro League.
